Speaker 1:

Welcome back to the group chat.

Speaker 2:

So this is Yola Gilliam and this is Lynne Johnson, aka Lenny, if you ask serious on my other friends that call me Lenny. How have you been this week? I have been okay. Well, you have some back problems. Oh yeah, I know, I don't know. I fell. I've been falling a lot lately. I don't know what is up with that, just being clumsy, I think.

Speaker 1:

You might want to talk to a professional.

Speaker 2:

It is being clumsy, like I was in the kitchen and it really used the bathroom and you know how you're trying to. Let me just do this really quickly. Couldn't wait anymore. Was running to the bathroom, my shoulder clips, the side of the wall.

Speaker 1:

I fall.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I fall. I got a bruise on my leg. My back was out of whack, as if I needed any more back problems Because, like the week before, I was down with my back, you know you know it is what it is.

Speaker 1:

Don't, don't, don't let it linger. It can just make other things worse.

Speaker 2:

This is true, this is true, and I definitely. You know, as you get older, authoritis tends to set in, so I definitely need to do something about that. But then that my week has been really, really good, how about your week?

Speaker 1:

It's been good. I was trying to think it's. I don't even know what day is this Friday, oh it is Friday.

Speaker 1:

Thank God it's been. It's been a pretty eventful week. Well, uneventful week, I don't know what's it is, I don't remember much of it, so I either had a really good time or a really bad time. I'm going to say really good, let's go with that, because I don't recall Like I said, I'm trying to figure out even what day of the week it is. It's been just a lot of preparation. You know I'm back in school, so trying to finish up some things. How's that going? It's going well. It's going well. I am in at WGU, which is Western Governors University, which is competency based, and so, luckily, a lot of the material around human resources I am familiar with, so I've been able to move through courses fairly quickly. Okay, and I've got a really good support system. I mentor they give you a program mentor and he's delightful and helpful, as has been the instructors that I've had contact with so far. I've, I think, mms seventh course right now.

Speaker 2:

Very good.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it moves pretty quickly. I started in November and when we be done competency based, you can move fairly quickly if you're familiar with the material.

Speaker 2:

Okay, and when will your end date be?

Speaker 1:

April.

Speaker 2:

April. What so?

Speaker 1:

I had enough of stuff to transfer, you know from other school link, and so they take that into account and you get credit for some of those things. And then, like I said, if you are familiar enough with the material, it moves fairly quickly. I said I'm going to be held up by the algebra class they are making me take.

Speaker 2:

Because, let's be clear, Algebra when we were in school. I'm sure it is totally different from the algebra that they learned now. Everything is different from what they learn now Like I have.

Speaker 1:

like I have a college freshman right now and a high school sophomore and I am not helping anybody with any homework. I can go through some stuff and be like ask the older one, do you remember this? So you can help your brother.

Speaker 2:

What's crazy is? That's crazy because I'm sure it's different from even how he when he was in school. Yeah, that is that that's wild. Yeah, because you know two plus two is no longer for anymore. I mean it is, but it's not two plus two, you have to. It's two plus around the barn, in the barn, on top of the barn, back down, and then you get four. It's I don't know, it's crazy.

Speaker 1:

Well, look for you. I was a little bit nervous about it but, like I said, after some research, oddly enough I found this program because I was job hunting and they had a position that was of interest to me. And during my research to learn more about the institution, as you know, from a prospective employer side of it, I found this program.

Speaker 2:

Wait, you were looking for a job at the school that you're attending now. Is that what you say?

Speaker 1:

Yes, and so I read, I was reading up on their programs, just to be, you know, become familiar with them, and I was like, oh, I should look into that, and so I did.

Speaker 2:

So that is going to be amazing because now, well, now, well, it could be amazing. Well, it's going to be amazing regardless, because you're in school. But now, will you still want to work for the school once you graduate, do you think, or would you want to set your sights on something else?

Speaker 1:

If a position like that came available again, I would be interested. I did not get that position. It's one of those moments where I filled out a scholarship application about it and I said, maybe this, that was the purpose of my seeing that listing and now just wasn't the right time. You know, things happen when they're supposed to happen.

Speaker 2:

They do, they do they in fact do. Well, good for you.

Speaker 1:

Thank you, Awesome Thank you. I know last time we talked you were wrapping up your program.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I was. Sunday was my last day. I got my progress report yesterday, which was off a little bit, but it was good. They had my attendance wrong, so she's going to fix it, but it was good. But overall 87% overall average, congratulations. So, yeah, I'm happy about that. And now more study. Now I have to study for my certifications, like my security plus security certifications, and that's going to be no joke because you have to study and study and study, because now the certification is 395. And if you fail, that's only you have to continue to retake it and repay the 395. So, yeah, so now my focus is now on studying to get my certifications. School never stops. I mean, it's over per se, but the studying is still there.

Speaker 1:

So good Never stops.

Speaker 2:

Good Never, never stops. So watch out people. Maybe I'll be an ethical hacker soon, in a good way.

Speaker 1:

Well, that's the ethical part. So, yes, we're excited about that next journey.

Speaker 2:

So what's on the list for today? So you know, last week I said we're going to keep it. You know, very easy, breezy, because it's a Friday.

Speaker 1:

You did not seem to think that that topic was determined. That was a lie.

Speaker 2:

So this we really are going to keep it it cute, just really easy. I'm thinking about. Let's talk about what are some of your favorite Netflix series, slash movies.

Speaker 1:

So simple. Right, that's simple. We keep it in a queue. Yeah, are you saying Netflix, specifically Netflix, or is this a general streaming service question?

Speaker 2:

general, if you have like, if you watch any other series on any other streaming service, I don't know who I watch, but I can. I mean, it doesn't happen necessarily be Netflix.

Speaker 1:

I watch it on Netflix, so movies could be anything. It's like a Kleenex general term for the streaming.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, you don't have to keep it to Netflix and you can even do movies too. I know something that's really big, that's gonna be coming out on Monday, that people are talking about. What's that? It's the color purple. Please tell me you've seen it, because I do have a family member who has never seen it. I won't call any names. I won't shame her. I'm gonna shame them. You should disown them. I have. Well, I told her. I said you need to get on it or I'm gonna have to revoke your black car, so yes, I have seen I have seen, I have read, the color purple.

Speaker 1:

I have seen the color purple. I have seen the color purple on Broadway. I am looking forward to seeing the movie rendition of the musical that is opening on Monday, december. Yes, I'm so excited about it.

Speaker 2:

Now one thing I don't think that I'm gonna like too much is when they change the songs. I hear there's gonna be new songs. Change is good, obviously. I just love you know how we like the original stuff. New stuff, I'm sure is gonna be good.

Speaker 1:

So here is my issue. I get where you're coming from because I was like, like I said, I have read the book the color purple many moons ago. Obviously, I have seen the movie from 1982, 1983, whatever the year was. I've seen that more than enough times that I could quote most of the movie to you. X. I have, like I said, seen the musical on Broadway.

Speaker 2:

Now did you see it with Tasia?

Speaker 1:

So that was the goal and we went with that in mind and something happened and she was not able to perform that night. So, no, but that had been the intention when we went. But no, we did not, unfortunately, and I did not get back. I had hoped to get back to see her in her life.

Speaker 2:

Wait and shout out to Tasia because she's hometown. She's from High Point, yeah. So shout out to Tasia because she is hometown 336.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so I look forward to seeing the movie. But at the same time I was one of those people who asked the question I was like, all right, so we had a book and we had a movie and then we had a Broadway adaptation of the movie as a Broadway musical. Now we have an adaptation of the Broadway musical into a musical movie. Why, why and I don't say this just about the color purple Like there have been a number Like, I think, like Mean Girls was another one, where I was like y'all 73, you know deep in this. Now let it go.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So there are a number of projects that have done this and I have asked myself why Now, this one I'm still going to see to support the people, and I love the color purple, and I think I will say this like, there are things and folks that I want to see, stuff that they're doing, and Danielle Brooks is one of them.

Speaker 2:

I love her.

Speaker 1:

So I, even you, know she had a show where she did makeovers on the homes of deserving folks.

Speaker 2:

Yes, what's that good? I always wanted to see it, but I never have caught up. So was it good.

Speaker 1:

We enjoy it. We enjoy it and you know it's a tearjerker and the people are. Most of those folks are doing really good things in their communities or for other people and so it's just a nice, you know, warm something to watch.

Speaker 2:

Well, I really like her. I like the whole entire cast. I love Taraji. I love the intention. Obviously I love Danielle Brooks. They've done an amazing job with that and I'm glad I'm excited to see her debut.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and I don't know a lot of her hers music, and so I have been looking forward to learning more just about them as a performer and Entertainer and a person, period.

Speaker 2:

So yes, she's pretty dope and Chloe, she's in it as well. I think is she. I don't know what she plays. We were there.

Speaker 1:

No, so her is squeak. Okay, the Hallie Hallie Bailey.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it's not Chloe is Hallie, okay.

Speaker 1:

Hallie is young, nettie.

Speaker 2:

Oh, oh. This is going to be good. It's going to be good. Now did Oprah just produce it. Is she in it in any form?

Speaker 1:

Or she's just behind the scenes. I won't know till Monday if she's in it.

Speaker 2:

Hmm, okay, cause I haven't really seen that many trailers, just a few, so I just I didn't know, but I'm excited about seeing it. That's a movie that, let me tell you, I could probably quote almost the whole movie. I mean, that movie is one of the ones that, anytime that it comes on, I stopped and watch it, as if that's my first time watching it, as you should. Yeah, that one. I'm going to say the five heartbeats. Selena is another one. I love Selena. I watched that movie.

Speaker 1:

I have never seen Selena, but hear me out, there is a reason why, in my defense, I I have a name that people associate with Selena and I don't like what people have to say about it and I cannot see a namesake do a bad thing.

Speaker 2:

Well, I mean, I guess, but I need you to. I need you to get on it. Okay, I need you to get on it because J L L played her till off in that one and even there's a Netflix series I don't know if it's still on Selena, I think it's eight or nine parts is really good, but the movie she, I have to say J L L L.

Speaker 1:

L.

Speaker 2:

L L.

Speaker 1:

L, l, l, l, l, l, l, l L L L.

Speaker 2:

L. L L the outcast or rapper Andre 3000. But like he said, he's, he's evolved. I like him playing the fluke, I think it's very thoroughly.

Speaker 1:

I like I was like I'm just going to put this on, let it play in the background, and I kept thinking it was going to become background noise, you know how it just kind of fades out. But I was like I just kept, I was enthralled, like I was really engaged to and I sent it to my sons Don't do a lot of like popular music and trendy stuff, mm, hmm, but I was like, oh, I think this is something that they would enjoy. They're gamers and one of the you, and so they enjoy those kind of compositions more, even towards leaning towards classical and stuff. So this was something that I could also not only did I enjoy, but I could share with them as well.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think that would be. Let me know how they like it, how they enjoy it, what they think about it. Pick up his latest album, people. It's really good, Um. So tell me something that you like. Some classics are not so classics or new, or that's just something that I was excited about. I know that's coming out on Monday, so I wanted to throw that in there with color purple. But tell me something that you like.

Speaker 1:

So I was Watching recently that I have been watching for those people who do, who celebrate Christmas. I am a huge like holiday romance movie watching person. So that is basically what I've been doing for the last since Halloween, but other than that I enjoy just kind of finding random stuff. So you ask about Netflix and I'll start with Netflix and things that I watch. I have been watched. I love the upshaws because I love Ken fields and I love Wanda Sikes, so I have enjoyed the upshaws.

Speaker 2:

Here's good, by the way.

Speaker 1:

It is, it's really good.

Speaker 2:

Isn't your boy in there?

Speaker 1:

Mike Is that the one he's in.

Speaker 2:

Yes, ok, so hold on, hold on, hold on Pin in that Mike helps. See, I can't. He's one of those people. You know how people couldn't stand my boy, mr Danny Gloves. Yes, feel that way about about Mike. That's because of sparkle. So that's probably why, loki, I haven't watched the upshaws, because I'm still holding that vendetta against him. I know that is just a show, but anyway, you know.

Speaker 1:

I tell you this if you talk about that sparkle remake, I did not watch that in its entirety, I do not. So I get really upset when I enjoy something original or what I shouldn't say. Sometimes the original for one person is not the original for another, but the sparkle that I know, I didn't care a spark. Yes, and I was like I don't need this new sparkle. This serves no purpose in my life. So I don't even know why you made it, mike. It's like because I don't know this new spark.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he beat her like. He beat her like. Beat her like. Would a belt beat her.

Speaker 1:

Be it, I don't know, it was just the first sparkle, the first sparkle in my life, and Is that why you entertaining this new sparkle.

Speaker 2:

Well, because I am a Whitney Houston fan, I love her. So, anything, whitney, I'm here for I'm watching it, period In the story. I love Whitney, I'll give you that and that's why I you know, and people were trying to say, oh, whitney was over. And this is when you know, when she came back, you know from her recovery issues, and you know that was her first movie, you know, since sobriety, and I wanted to support her and I wanted to see it and I want to see it on the big screen. So that's why I went to see it. Ordinarily I probably wouldn't, but that's why. But anyway, so the upshows.

Speaker 1:

Okay, yeah, first wives club, which was a beat beaty plus original that I watched the first season on that, and now the three seasons that are available are available on Netflix now, which is really cute. It's Jelly from Philly. Yes, she is fantastic in that. Yes, right, michelle bath or the bath. I need to learn how to pronounce her name. Oh, and I'm forgetting Michelle's last name, buttoh, I think, which is funny because I also watched the Bible of the thickest, which is hilarious.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, and then I watched a lot of matchmaking shows. I didn't realize until I started thinking about what I was going to say to you while we were talking. So Indian matchmaking and Jewish matchmaking are very interesting to me. I enjoy matchmaking as a concept, so seeing this in cultures where it's very prevalent is very interesting. It is very interesting and it's also one of those things that shows clearly like even with different you know races, ethnicities, cultures, right that people are people. They are. So people who are having trouble finding matches across the board have very similar personalities and attitudes and thought processes. So I'm rarely surprised that these people have not found matches and are now reaching out to get some professional assistance. Coaching.

Speaker 2:

Speaking of dating shows, which this one I really love. Love is Blind, love, love, love it. You know they're filming in the Queen City.

Speaker 1:

I do. I have a friend who they had told her that she should know she's not there.

Speaker 1:

But another friend of hers had told her that she should probably sign up and you know, audition or not, she did not. But when I saw the notice that you know it was in Charlotte everyone from Charlotte, this is where it was it takes it I was like, do I need to pay attention to this piece of it? So I need to be watching. She has assured me no, I can watch only if I want to, but not I will not find her there, not because of her.

Speaker 2:

That's funny. I love that show. When I heard it with my sister-in-law, she told me that you know, love is Blind is because we love that show. It's taped in Charlotte. I love that show because I love that. Cameron and Lauren, lauren, oh my God. First of all, I love them. I was rooting for them and they're still married how many years, bobby?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they just had a vow renewal. Yeah, I saw that, yeah.

Speaker 2:

I saw that.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes you know you feel like stuff, certain things are meant for certain people, and I felt that way about married at first sight with Doug, and why is his wife's name going out of my mind? I could not remember her name save my life. But sometimes I feel like these shows are produced and created for this one particular couple, not like the producers know that, but just kind of like for them to find each other. And they may not. And I feel that Lauren and Cam are that, oh man, and I feel like they can just stop doing it now.

Speaker 2:

I mean because they are just. They're so cute together.

Speaker 1:

They are so so cute. They have been very. I've watched, I've gone back a few times and kind of watched some of their content that they created around. You know that process and their life and lessons that they've learned just being married at this time and I really enjoy watching the their connection strengthen and them grow as a couple and as individuals.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they have, they really have. They just seem so. They appear to be very much in love and just really like each other, friends.

Speaker 1:

Yes, is what they appear.

Speaker 2:

That's very, it really is. Oh yeah, so you like that, so you got you watch. Do you watch that as well, in addition to love at first sight?

Speaker 1:

So I don't watch any of them anymore. Okay, I. So I got my feel of marriages for sight at first sight, I think. Godly the year, I think, when they they did a season in Charlotte too with some you know area folks, though. Okay, and then I just love is blind. What did he say? I can very angry with some of the school, and I know it's not them. I know that there is a lot that happens the editing In the editing and the post-production that makes people seem a certain way. But no, no, like I said, it's kind of like. You know, we talked about Fantasia being from high point and I had watched American Idol religiously and till her season, and after that I was like, well, it's kind of, lost is once. You know somebody who's one is weird. It's like you don't get the same. Well, I did not get the same thing out of it. So I didn't watch anymore and I was like, once I have gotten, I think, all the entertainment I'm going to get out of a show I just moved on. No, I get it.

Speaker 2:

I think that's one of the shows that I think I don't know, I think it's run its course, but people love it. Yeah, people Love people. People don't yeah, they will. But I have to say I don't think I watched a few episodes afterwards, but I think that's when I really stopped watching. Like you is after J Hood and Fantasia was on.

Speaker 1:

That's when I am doing extremely well, yeah, so yeah, that was a powerhouse season two.

Speaker 2:

I know, oh man, oh man, yeah, it was. But you know how. You were just saying how people edit things and you become upset with things that people do, you know. But I've never understood, because I was watching Marit to Medicine and it just always in any type of show like that. I've never understood. No, this was Housewives of Potomac. I've never understood why people, if you know something is going to upset your mate or friend, why do you do it Like, oh God, I got to go back until X, y and Z, oh, he's going to be pissed. If you know he's going to be pissed, why would you say anything? That just never made any sense to me, to you, does it make sense?

Speaker 1:

Don't understand why you would do something you know is going to make somebody you care about upset in any circumstance.

Speaker 2:

We are, but I'm like, but I guess for ratings I guess, I don't know, but do you watch any?

Speaker 1:

of the Housewives. I used to watch Atlanta and, but I haven't since the. They took an inial. Him feels was up. No, oh God, you don't concern me. Ken feels was there. Okay, eric used to watch Potomac, so I would like, when he was watching, if I was in the room I'd watch with him, but I would get so annoyed by certain members of that cast that I just could not.

Speaker 2:

Oh, that's not my favorite.

Speaker 1:

I no longer watch any but I did have a have a former colleague who was like when she and I said she is a Housewives fan, and I mean the franchise, like to the point that I even bought her like that seemed merchandise as a going away present, she is the real deal fan. The Housewives shout out to you. You know who I'm talking to. But so I would enjoy listening to her tell me more of the stuff than actually watching the show. Yeah, oh, my God, I love the house.

Speaker 2:

I used to watch them all. Atlanta, I used to watch Beverly Hills. I'm going to ask you a question.

Speaker 1:

You lived in Atlanta. Do you know any of these people? We do not, wow.

Speaker 2:

Because you know they're. These are new people. When I say new like different from when they when it first started. No, did you know any of those people?

Speaker 1:

Because I see how you know. No, no, no, no.

Speaker 2:

I don't, I don't, but I love to. You know what? I do miss Atlanta, but I watch it. I used to watch it because, well, it came on when I lived there and I love to watch it because I love to see, like, oh yeah, I know that spot, you know they used to go there, or you know, I don't know, you know, or new things, atlanta has changed so much. I go back now and it's like is this the place I used to live, because they built so much, you know, a lot of high rises. Now it's just, it's just, it's just changed. But no, I don't know any of them. No, no, let's talk about this. What did you think about the movie? Because I was scrolling through Instagram yesterday and Bet Metler had posted this clip of was it the step for what? I think it was, but it made me think of beaches. Do you remember that movie?

Speaker 1:

I loved beaches. I loved beaches. I have watched beaches and I don't mean again. I loved Neil Long, but I didn't need new beaches.

Speaker 2:

That's all I'm going to ask you Did you watch that one Bet?

Speaker 1:

Metler and Barbara Hershey, so I needed them to stop. I did not watch new beaches. I did?

Speaker 2:

I watched it just because I wanted to see if it was going to be similar. But I mean you cannot. I mean the original issue. It just is what it is. People, the original, nothing is going to. Any of the redo's are not going to touch the original.

Speaker 1:

It is not, I will not say that because there is one exception to that rule for me. Which one, tell me.

Speaker 2:

Imitation of life. Okay, I mean, they didn't know what.

Speaker 1:

Well, no, the one that you are probably most familiar with is a remake.

Speaker 2:

Oh well, yeah, I like the original, but I do like the remake better.

Speaker 1:

So, yes, that, like I have, and I've seen both of those and, like I said, I do enjoy it, but that is probably the only remake, yeah, which was and that's still back in the day though. Yes, like both of those were still way long time ago. That's a classic one too, yo Imitation of life. It just that's my movie, that is my Mommy.

Speaker 2:

Dearest. I mean, did you like that movie? Did you see it?

Speaker 1:

I did see Mommy Dearest and I did enjoy Mommy Dearest. That was a mean mama.

Speaker 2:

I mean she, christina, and her brother Nathan, literally Nathan. She left them, I don't know, she was just very, she was a cruel mom, but that was, oh my God, that was but beaches. When I tell you every time I see that movie Classic, any of us, I mean just classic I'll tell you what I have been um binging we shouldn't say binging Well, he had kind of been jing, so I used to watch this. When it first came on how to get away with murder, the numbers lassen's really down. But it was Not just your previous movie, well, the Cafe Homemade. I mean two of you, you gotta piece your faces, uh, and I mean you didn'tisan get, it was really. You just had to stand there like that. Well, I got it out of me. Cocktails andwaiter I get. I mean you said are you out of your mind what the hell and again.

Speaker 1:

he did give me features like that. You, I don't know, I haven't been in Shoerelated enough Effort doin it on it. There was not even like a reason. I just never went back. Should I pick it up, did you?

Speaker 2:

not like it.

Speaker 1:

I really enjoyed the first season, and it's Viola Davis for having sake, so I just didn't go back.

Speaker 2:

It was, I don't know. It's just always interesting to see. I don't know, it's a lot of the plot thickens and twist and turns. You know, and I'm on the well, I'm like this. I can't even remember what season I stopped watching, but you know, I just kind of like when I was at her house we just picked up and it was just I think I'm on like the last season now, but it's, you know it's one of those shows.

Speaker 2:

I'm the type of person I can't like a lot of like. I love drama and thrillers, but if it gets done, done, done. You know I have to like I have to pause it for a minute because my heart I get papputations and I just have to put it down for a minute. Yeah it's. You may should pick it back up. And you know, the other one was a scandal. Do you know? All those years that I watched scandal, I have yet to watch the season finale. You don't know what happened.

Speaker 1:

Well, I won't ruin that for you, but I will say I left that series. I love scandal Like I created a Facebook group of other scandal fans and I have watched that series a number of times, except the final season. So, you've never seen the final season. I've seen it, but I've not rewatched it.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so the final season was in totality when you watched it originally and just never went back to watch the final series.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I was so you, I'm not going to ruin it for you. Certain things have been, especially in that last episode. I was so angry at some of the decision making and I'm like I will not put myself through that again. I will just live in this fantasy world where these things are still occurring.

Speaker 2:

Oh, but when I tell you there were so many moving parts in that show, oh my goodness, it's crazy, but yeah. And when I tell people that they're like what I'm like, yes, and you would think that I would pick it up and go and I want to see the last episode, I was so mad that I didn't see it when it first aired, that I think I just got mad and I don't even know what I was doing that night, that it was one that I couldn't watch it originally, and I think I should be bearded, but I just life.

Speaker 1:

So I just never got around to watching it. Hey, diankee, mo, mm. Hmm, quinn and Hook have a podcast Um called. I think I'm packing a toolbox and they are literally going episode by episode what it, giving their feedback and their thoughts, and some behind the scenes you know, to bits. I've listened to I want to say about three or four episodes. I enjoy it and it's on my list of podcasts that I put on when I'm driving. But you should check it out. It's funny, it's entertaining. They they bring on, like you know, Chandra, rimes and Kerry, and all the people come as guest. Really, it's interesting to hear their perspective, having been there, how they feel about, because they do actually rewatch them before they talk about. So really, I'm going to listen to them.

Speaker 2:

Really, I am going to listen to them. Yeah, like that would be so, so. So they just take you. So what is their podcast about? They just talk about that episode or what they were feeling in that moment, like what they talk about, the episode.

Speaker 1:

They talk about, like I said, the behind the scenes things, some of the stuff that, like they may have been personally going through and how it impacted, how they did a scene or you know, just just all of it. Like there is basically they're watching the show, they're kind of like reacting to it as a fan, but then they get they can add some more depth to it because they were there. Plus they are just as a as a team. They are hilarious, oh my goodness.

Speaker 1:

Friends in real life. They play off each other well. It's just a good time.

Speaker 2:

Oh my goodness, and what was the guy's name who started off with them?

Speaker 1:

Are you talking about the short? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, I'm still mad at him.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean he, you know he fumbled the bag on that one. He fumbled the bag on that one.

Speaker 1:

When I don't look at that, because I don't need a lawsuit, because I have so much that I want to say about.

Speaker 2:

No, but I'm just saying I don't understand when people are put in these positions, that to say where life changing things, or you know, you know, whatever it may be, whether you like changing situations don't change who you are at your core.

Speaker 1:

This is true.

Speaker 2:

So it only enhances it. But I'm just saying, like you get opera to like, when you get these opportunities that people don't get every day and you go and do something, some confundery, some buffoonery, I don't, I don't get it. I just I just don't get it. But yeah, that was, that was a really, really good classic show. So, ok, so I may have to. I got to check out that podcast, you do. I definitely have to check out that podcast, and what is it?

Speaker 1:

I'm packing the toolbox. I want to say I'm packing the tool box.

Speaker 2:

I actually like that title, I do too, Hmm, interesting, ok, all right. Well, even on the lines of Movies and social media was good. What's new in the world of social media?

Speaker 1:

I don't know if it's new, but I found it a couple of days ago on Instagram account that I follow Black Love Bible, and it is when we pull it up, because you did send it to me and I have not read through it and a woman from Dutchess, from Dutchess at Dutchess T underscore, and her post says he commented on my post.

Speaker 1:

She replied to his comment. The guy replied again. Sorry y'all, my phone just went back, I'll start again. He commented on my post. She replied to his comment. The guy replied again. She replied back and they were about to fall in love with my post so I deleted it. Hmm, and the comments kind of ate her up Called her a hater and all this kind of stuff. What do you think?

Speaker 1:

I'm kind of looking through some of these, these comments, and is definitely giving is giving hater which I think the first one I see is like wait, why would you stop love Like I do? I'm curious.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. And then someone else goes on to say, plot twist, he knows her handle, he knows her handle it better, better. This is true Now if he's replied back to her at least three times. But he does know her handle. So I don't know if Dutch is dating. I'm not sure.

Speaker 1:

I don't follow, I don't know, I don't know who Duchess is.

Speaker 2:

She lives in Gastonia actually. Oh, she's from the house, Let me. Let me rewind that. She's from Gastonia. Um, she was on Black Ink.

Speaker 1:

Oh, ok, well, I do know, that show. Eric watched that show.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, oh, so that's. That's the show she was on.

Speaker 1:

But I don't understand. I guess for me I would. I enjoy other people's love stories. I like oh, I would be like and guess how they met because of me. So I don't know that I would not want them to have a chance just because they met on my social media posts.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, which I don't know. You know, I think this may lead into another topic or another day, but do you think now we won't go there?

Speaker 1:

But yeah, well, I'm going to tell you what I think. I don't know what question you were about to ask, but what I think is what's for you is for you, and if these people are quote meant to be together, they're going to find each other, like you said. Somebody said they got each other's handles, I'm assuming. I'm assuming there was some screenshot and happening as people do, we, absolutely I don't understand the point of doing it. I sure as heck don't understand the point of telling people you did it.

Speaker 2:

Well, look, and here's the thing, even if they didn't have each other's handle and they liked each other's comments, guess what? You can go back and look at all the light posts that you've liked. So, oh, she didn't have them connecting.

Speaker 1:

She deleted the whole post.

Speaker 2:

Oh, dang that it so yeah, that would just put a kibosh in my theory. Yeah, I don't know, but do you think that that's a good question and I think there should be a topic for another day. Do you think black people as a whole, black women do you think that they don't cook their friends up with people if they know, because you know other cultures will say hey, you know, bob, have a friend, we want to hook you up. Do you think that our culture does that? Or do we try to hate and not try to hook our friends up if we know someone no?

Speaker 1:

people who have hooked people up or ask hey, I have this friend who is looking to date. Do you know anybody who you know might be an appropriate companion or mate? I don't know any people who are hating, but I'm sure there's some out there.

Speaker 1:

I don't I don't know Again, and we kind of talked about this and I feel like a broken record to keep saying this. I also don't like know a lot of single people who know other single people. So they're usually asking somebody who is in a long term relationship if they or their significant other know people. And that's how it's happening. Does that make sense? Is no, it does. It does. So it's not like single people looking at a single people up. I do think that it could be some adoration there. If you're looking for a mate and then if you find somebody who you feel is eligible and worthy of your friend, you're probably not going to be like I'm looking for somebody, I'm going to give this eligible person who I think is great to somebody else. Most people would not do that. Now it takes a certain maturity to recognize everybody you know who might seem like an eligible mate might not be the mate for you and recommend you know and introduce him to somebody else.

Speaker 1:

But especially as the pool gets smaller, as I understand it, I can see people not being willing to be like. Let me set you up with this incredible person. I know if I'm also looking for somebody.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't have a problem. You know, like, look, if I have a friend and I have another friend and I think that he's good for my friend and she may be looking for someone, and I think they may get along, or they have some of the same, you know, I think they may like each other, I think they may have things in common, why not? Why not?

Speaker 1:

Well, we're going to ask folks to come back to you when we have that conversation we said we're going to have about dating and relationships. This will be something we add to that agenda.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yes, yes yes.

Speaker 1:
